Urban Oasis
This 1910 cottage is located in a northwest inner suburb of Boston.
The existing sizeable yard has mature trees with a shaded backyard. The homeowners were interested in making upgrades to their property combined with a renovation of their house.
The landscape design creates colorful front planting beds to showcase the handsome façade of the house. A new deck and pergola provide outdoor dining space in the backyard.
Perennial planting beds frame the rehabilitated backyard lawn. A native pollinator garden is added outside of the sun porch to provide summer and winter interest. Wood fencing and a low stone wall define the property boundaries. The landscape was completed in the summer of 2023.
